Key, James E. James E. Key, age 70 of Woodville, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away Monday, June 4, 2007 at his home. James was born on March 30, 1937 in Houston, Mississippi to John and Zettie Mae (King) Key. He had been a foreman at the Midwest Plating Company in Grand Rapids for 35 years until his retirement. James married Beverly Lorenz on March 22, 1986 in Grand Rapids and was a member of the Good Shepherd Church. James has been a full time resident of the Woodville area for the past 6 years but spent many weekends and summers in the Woodville area prior to moving from Grand Rapids. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, and vegetable gardening. He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Woodville, his children, James (Peggy) Key Jr.; William Key; Corean Key; Janine Key; Marcella Key; Kenneth Key; James Mansfield; Darrell Mansfield; Amika Mansfield; Jason Key; Parcella Roberts; Tasha Key; Terry Roberts; Wayne Mansfield; Sheila Vinson; Mary Huddleston all of Grand Rapids; a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; his sisters, Daisy M. Wilson of Memphis, Tennessee; Patricia Key of Grand Rapids; Joyce Louise Robinson of Chicago, Illinois; Mary L. Foster of Grand Rapids; host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Francine Key and Ruby Key; his brothers, Johnie B. Key and Sonnie Key; his sisters, Thelma Adams, Nora B. Baskin, Mary Alice Key. Funeral services were held on Friday, June 8, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud with Pastor Amelia C. Rodriguez of The Good Shepherd Church presiding with interment in the Woodville Cemetery. Friends may consider the American Diabetes Foundation for memorial contributions in memory of James.
