James "Jim" Hough, age 72, of White Cloud passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023. Jim was born on December 26, 1950 to Robert and Lydia (Baker) Hough in Muskegon and graduated from Orchard View High School. Jim worked as a machinist in Grand Haven for over 30 years at Michigan Plastics, where he met his future wife, Beatrice. Jim and Bea were married on December 9, 1971 in Muskegon. Together, they moved to their home on Diamond Lake in White Cloud, where four generations of family made memories swimming, fishing, and telling stories around a fire. Jim loved hunting and fishing and could fix almost anything, but his greatest love was his family. He was a loyal and devoted husband, a loving father, and was especially close to his grandchildren, who he always put first. Jim is survived by his children, Diane (Bob) Irwin of Ravenna, Sheila (Don) O'Brien of Muskegon, and Sherry (Mark) Bryant of Muskegon; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Bob (Linda) Hough, his sister Dianna (Larry) Moore, and his sister, Linda Hoekstra; many nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bea, his parents, Robert and Lydia, his son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Sheilah Pape, great-grandson, Hunter O'Brien and great great granddaughter, Honesty Williams.
