James Laverne Lieffers, age 67 of Clarksville, TN passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. James was born in Sparta, MI on April 6, 1954 to LaVern and Reba Lieffers. James served his country in the Air Force. He enjoyed guns, cars, sports, movies and motorcycles. He also loved History. James attended Grace Church of the Nazarene for 13 years. James had a passion for people who were wounded, be it Mentally, Spiritually or Physically. Prior to his illness, he worked on Fort Campbell, KY at the Warrior Transition Battalion, and then at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida helping to build the Intrepid Spirit Program there. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Donna, of 27 years; son, Andrew; sisters, Joann (John) Swart of Grand Rapids, MI and Terryl (Orville) Nichole of Ravenna, MI. James is preceded in death by his parents, LaVern and Reba Lieffers, and brother, Thomas. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Gateway Funeral Home at 12:00 P.M. Officiating will be Pastor Joe Voight. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M., on Tuesday March 1, 2022, at Hillside Cemetery in Grant, Michigan.
