James M. Schwartz, age 67 of Hesperia, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021 at this home following a 4 year battle with Alzheimer's. Jim was born on July 17, 1954 in Plymouth, Michigan to Henry "Hank" Osborn and Frances Blanche (Norman) Schwartz and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1973. Jim moved from the Detroit area to Hesperia in 1975 and started Sign Power Plus in Hesperia which he owned and operated for 30 years. Jim had also been a bus driver at the Hesperia Public Schools for 15 years of which the last 2 years was superintendent of the transportation department at Hesperia Public Schools. Jim met Doris "Jean" Finch in 1982 and they were later married in 1995. Jim was a musician all his life, playing the drums in several bands throughout West Michigan. Jim had also been an active member and had served as President of the Hesperia Area Chamber of Commerce for over 25 years and enjoyed hunting, camping, bon fires and simply being in the Michigan outdoors. Jim is survived by his wife, Jean of Hesperia; his son, Eric (Courtney) Schwartz and their children, Gabe, Carlie and Lilly; stepchildren, Jason (Ashley) Finch; Carri Ann (Don) Campbell and their children, Evan, Waytt, Tristan, Nolan Campbell; 2 great grandchildren, Lucas and Leia Campbell; his sister, Jeanne Martin; several nieces and nephews Jim was preceded in death by his stepson, Brian Finch on September 4, 2020; his twin brother, Gerald Schwartz; brother, Thomas Schwartz and by his parents, Hank and Frances Schwartz.
