James George Maddox, age 90 of Fremont, formerly of White Cloud and Brohman, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015 at his home following a lingering illness. George was born on September 10, 1924 in Grand Rapids to Andrew P. and Esther M. Maddox and later married Doris D. Moomy. Doris preceded him in death. George had been a supervisor at Dura Plating in Wyoming, Michigan for many years until his retirement. George also served in the United States Navy during World War II and also served in the United States Naval Reserve. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working and tinkering around his house. George is survived by his children, Gary J. (Diane) Maddox of Hudsonville; Greg L. (Cheryl Sterling) Maddox of Hawkins; Pat (Deb) Maddox of Wayland; Sheryl Pease (David Gilmore) of Woodland Park; Robert (Cindy) Maddox of Fremont; 20 grandchildren; many great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; his daughters, Sally Maddox and Doris Maddox; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Joyce Maddox. VISITATION : Monday, August 3, 2015 from 5-8pm at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel and 12-1pm prior to the funeral services on Tuesday. FUNERAL SERVICES : Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 1pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Military Rites given at the funeral home. INTERMENT : Ressurection Cemetery in Grand Rapids. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Diabetes Association or Association for the Blind.
