Obituary

James Monroe Myers, 89 of Brohman, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont . James was born on October 21, 1915 in Scottville , Kentucky to William R. and Mary (Burgett) Myers and married Mary Garbaty on May 29, 1937 in Detroit . James had been a supervisor at the Huron Steel Company in Detroit for several years until his retirement in 1972 at which time, James moved to the Brohman area from Dearborn Heights . James was a longtime member of the Woodville Community Church and was devoted to his faith. He was a member of the Local 247 Teamsters Union, enjoyed gardening, reading and playing cards with his wife, Mary and had enjoyed tinkering with cars. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary of Brohman, his children, Joseph (Irene) Myers of Daytona Beach, Florida; Joan Muriel of Kentucky; Gloria (Gerald) Gajewski of Redford Township; Lucille (Wayne) Mirkle of White Cloud; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; his sister, Barbara Thorne of Florida; brother, Edward Myers of Garden City, Michigan. James was preceded in death by his daughter, Monica Marie Hayes; by his sisters, Ida; Lillian; Ruth, Jane, Bevee; and by his brothers, George and Coy. Funeral services were held on Friday, 18, 2005 from the Woodville Community Church with Pastor Doug Warners presiding with interment in the Woodville Cemetery . Friends may consider the Myers Family for personal expenses or the Woodville Community Church for memorial contributions in memory of James.
