James Carl Sokolowski, Jr., 62, born June 6, 1962, beloved father, brother, uncle and grandfather passed away on January 26th, 2025 in Fremont, Mi. James had a love for hot rods, car shows, traveling, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, watching NASCAR and watched the Detroit Red Wings from time to time. James loved to spend time with his son, daughter-in-law and grand kids. James had stories to tell, and endless jokes. James was really famous for his "Irish Goodbyes "
James is survived by his son Taylor(Shelbie) Sokolowski, daughter Rita Summers, his brothers, sister: Ken Sokolowski, Steve(Nora) Sokolowski, Thomas(Peggy) Sokolowski Randall(Christie) Sokolowski, and Kristi(Richard) Staples. Grandkids: Leyland, Everleigh, Lainey, Phoenix, Brezlin, Harley, Barrett, Kiersten, Haley and Eli.
James is preceded in death by his daughter Nicole, his parents Sharon and James Sokolowski, his sister Ann Marie Sokolowski. James is also preceded in death by his one true love Barb Sokolowski.
His memory will be honored with a series of services on Friday, February 7th, 2025. Visitation is scheduled for 10:00 am, followed by a Rosary at 10:30 am. The Memorial Mass will begin at 11:00 am, celebrating the life of a man who touched so many with his kindness and strength. Following the mass, a gathering for family and friends for a luncheon will take place at 12:00 pm, also at St Bartholomew Church, where stories and memories of James will be shared amongst those who loved him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and is fondly remembered by his grandkids family and friends. James will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will forever live on in our hearts.
