James Steve Stone, age 55 of Holton, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at his home. Steve was born on March 22, 1957 in Muskegon to John and Mary (Zatzke) Stone and later graduated from Whitehall High School in 1975. Steve later married Joan M. Patelski on May 30, 1987 at the St. Michaels Catholic Church in Brunswick. Steve had been a self-employed builder and had enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar racing, golfing, and visiting with friends. Steve is survived by his wife, Joan of Holton; his children, Brandon (Nina) Stone and their children, Jaxon and Olsen of Muskegon; Nikki Stone of Holton; Jacki Stone of Holton; his father, John (Diane) Stone of Muskegon; sisters and brothers, Kim (Theresa) Stone of Florida; Tresa Chastain of OFallon, Illinois; Scott (Amy) Stone of Pentwater; Sara Stone of Muskegon; sisters-in-laws, Rose Bailey of Fremont; Janet Patelski of Aiken, South Carolina; Renee (Jim) Twigg of Fremont; Carol (Ron) Woodland of Holland; Sue Patelski of Muskegon; brother-in-law, Rich Patelski of Holton; several nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Stone and by his sister, Marianna Stone. GRAVESIDE SERVICES : Thursday, November 8, 2012 at11am at the Oakwood Cemetery in Holton with a TIME OF GATHERING immediately following at the Holton American Legion.
