James Thomas, age 74 of Fremont, passed away Monday, December 20, 2004, at the Hackley Hospital in Muskegon. Jim was born on May 21, 1930 in Muskegon to Stanley & Anna (Grabonski) Thomas and married Geneva Mae Ross on February 4, 1952 in Fremont. Jim had been a production worker at the Herman Miller/Meridian Company for many years until his retirement in 1995. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Fremont and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict where he served in the United States Army. He is survived by loving wife of 52 years, Geneva of Fremont; his daughter, Janet S. Thomas and son-in-law Lawrence Reddy of Whitehall; his sons, Michael Thomas of Boyne Falls and Steven (Lori) Thomas of Perry, Michigan; granddaughter, Jennifer; brothers, Stanley (Marg) Thomas II of Newaygo; Henry (Josephine) Thomas of Fremont; sisters, Patricia Slade of Grand Rapids; Vivian (Donald) Williams of Fremont; Mary (James) Easterland of Lansing; and Betty (Clarence) Haynes of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Anna; his sisters, Helen Longcore; Nellie Venema; and brothers, Phillip Thomas and Joseph Thomas. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 from the First Baptist Church in Fremont with Rev. Craig Cramblet presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
