James M. VanBoxel, age 52 of Grand Rapids, formerly of White Cloud, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 at his home. James was born on December 9, 1958 in Detroit to Peter and Roberta (Cartwright) VanBoxel and grew up in the White Cloud area. He has been a resident of the Grand Rapids area where he had been a production worker at Grand Rapids Foam Technologies and enjoyed fishing and hunt, camping, and riding his bike. He is survived by his children, Jason (Mindie) VanBoxel of Grant; Angel (Paul) Hartley of Grant; 10 grandchildren; sisters and brothers, JoAnn (Leon) Graham of High Springs, Florida; Peter (Kathy) VanBoxel of White Cloud; Ronald (Loy) VanBoxel of White Cloud; Peggy (Joseph) Denny of Newaygo; LeRoy (Rhonda) VanBoxel of White Cloud; Katie (John) Hammond of Brooksville, Florida; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher VanBoxel, his parents, Peter and Roberta VanBoxel; and by his sisters, Wanda Flournoy, Debra Morris, Ann Thompson. A time of remembrance will be held on Friday, May 20, 2011 from 1-4 pm at his daughter Angel Home, 13986 Oak Avenue in Grant. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the James M. VanBoxel family to assist with expenses.
