Obituary

James A. Woodworth, age 87, of Fremont passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2002, at home following a long illness. He was born on October 23, 1915, in Ishpeming, Michigan, to James Clinton and Euphamia (MacTavish) Woodworth and married Mary Ann McGee on June 21, 1949, in Muskegon. James was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, VFW, former officer of the Klompen Club, and a founding member of the Stage Door Players. He was a manager for Kroeger for 25 years and then a sales representative for the Hi-Lites Shoppers Guide for 25 years. He was a proud Navy veteran of WWII, serving in the South Pacific and member of the All Saints Catholic Church. Surviving is his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Ann of Fremont; daughters Eileen (Hoyt) Sexton of Dallas, Texas and Anne (John) Hoyt of Lowell, Michigan; 4 grandchildren, Robert (Yvette) Sexton, Eric (Amy) Sexton, Scott (Holly) Woodworth, and Austin Hoyt; 3 great-grandchildren, Coryn, Feyth, and Tabitha Woodworth; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John (Donna) McGee of Grand Rapids, Joe (Donna) VanOcker McGee of Spring Lake, and Tom (Fran) McGee of Grand Rapids. A Funeral Mass was held on Thursday at 11 a.m. from the All Saints Catholic Church with Father Tony Russo officiating and interment in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. For a more lasting memorial friends are asked to consider the All Saints Catholic Church Building Fund or Fremont Area Community Foundation for the Dogwood Center Endowment Fund.
