Jane F. Scheel, age 75 of Holton, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Mercy Health Partners Mercy Campus in Muskegon following a short illness. Jane was born on April 5, 1945 in Twin Lake to Emmaet Walter and Grace Elaine (Underwood) Cooper. Jane has been a lifelong resident of the Holton area and met and married Ernest "Skip" H. Scheel in 2003 and they have been together for 40 years. Jane had been a daycare provider in her home for several years and later became a greeter at Walmart in Fremont until her retirement after 15 years. Jane enjoyed baking, working in her yard with flowers and taking care of the lawn, decorating her home, but truly treasured the time she spent being a mother and grandmother to her family. Jane is survived by her husband, Skip Scheel of Holton; her children, Misty (James) Postema of Norton Shores; Scott Eckert of Beaverton, Michigan; Brian (Angie) Eckert of Holton; Dennis Eckert of Muskegon; Peter Eckert of Holton; stepsons, Steve Scheel of Grand Rapids; Craig (Beth) Scheel of Muskegon; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; her sister, Sharon (Jerry) Smith of Grand Haven. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Emmaet and Grace Cooper; by her sisters, Janet Grenell, Jackie Vasquez, Evelyn Cooper; by her brothers, Butch Cooper, Dwayne Cooper and Pete Cooper.
