Janet Irene May, age 79, of White Cloud, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28th, 2024. She was born on Friday, May 18th, 1945 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Harold and Joanne Heintzelman. On August 29, 1964 Janet married her best friend Leon in White Cloud at the Methodist Church and together, they had nearly 60 years of love and memories shared.

Janet is survived by her loving husband Leon May; children; Michele (Vance) Owen and Michael May, her grandchildren; Jason Feutz and Sara May, her great grandchildren; Stephen and Scarlett, and her sisters; Joan (Al) Beach and Judy (Monte) Hadlock. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Joanne Heintzelman.

Janet dedicated her life to working with children and was a highly influential child care provider. She had a passion for sewing and quilting, and her artistic talent shone through in all of her crafts. She also served as an office secretary for the hockey coach at Michigan Tech, a Sunday school teacher, and organized vacation bible school and Christmas programs for many years. Janet will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 12pm the Grace Evangelical Free Church with an hour of visiting time before the service. Interment will be at Blythefield Memorial Gardens immediately following the funeral service.
