Janice K. Parrish, age 70 of White Cloud, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at her home. Jan was born on March 2, 1941 in Georgetown Township to Dick and Theresa (Groendyk) Bruin and later married Eugene A. Parrish on March 8, 1958 in Cutlerville and they moved to the White Cloud area in 1968 from Grand Rapids. Gene preceded her in death on December 22, 2008. Jan started work in the Newaygo County Register of Deeds Office, moved to the Newaygo County Building Department and later retired from the Newaygo County Treasurers Office in 2003. Jan was also active in the Everett Township government offices and served as treasurer for many years and also served on the Everett Township Cemetery Board. Jan enjoyed visiting with people, gardening and landscaping at her home, camping, fishing, all kinds of animals and had enjoyed golfing in her younger years. Jan was a member of the Big Prairie Community Church. Jan is survived by her children, Aaron Parrish of White Cloud; Matt (Karen) Parrish of White Cloud; Michelle (Daniel) Sanchez of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Mark (Coleen) Parrish of Fremont; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; her brother, Robert (Peg) Bruin of Byron Center; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Judith Ann Benedict. VISITATION : Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 6-8pm at Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Monday, October 17, 2011 at 12pm at the Big Prairie Community Church. INTERMENT : Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Big Prairie Community Church.
