Jean M. Leslie, age 64 of Twin Lake, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at her home. Jean was born on February 4, 1947 in Bay City to Kenneth and Hazel (Odell) Adcock. Jean received her Bachelors Degree in Education and her Masters Degree from Central Michigan University and started her teaching career at Fremont Public School where she taught from 1969 1975. In 1975, Jean started working for the McGraw Hill Publishing Company in Grand Rapids and later transferred to Columbus, Ohio where she retired from the marketing department of McGraw Hill in 2007. After her retirement, Jean moved back to the Fremont area where she truly enjoyed golfing and spending time with her friends. Jean also enjoyed living on the lake, gardening and reading. Jean married John Leslie and he preceded her in death in 1994. Jean is survived by her mother, Hazel Adcock of Bay City; her sister, Karen Grove of Bay City; her nieces, Jamie Laskey of Bay City; Kristine (Paul) Treat of Maryland; her great nieces and nephew, Evan Laskey, Brendan Treat and Morgan Treat; many special friends; her step children, Scott Leslie of Grand Rapids; Laura Leslie of New Jersey. Memorial services will be held on August 8, 2011 at 1pm with a time of visitation 1 hour prior to the services at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. Friends may consider the Fremont Area Community Foundation for the Hamilton Scholarship Fund or the American Heart Society for memorial contributions in memory of Jean.
