Jeanette P. Schmidt, age 87 of White Cloud, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Jeanette was born on January 25, 1929 in Chicago to Harold Henry and Minnie (Braatz) Payne and later married Kenneth Schmidt on August 6, 1949 in Hinsdale, Illinois. Kenneth preceded her in death on March 1, 2008. Jeanette had worked as the office manager in the family plastering business for many years and later retired as a ward clerk from the Suburban Hospital in Hinsdale, Illinois. Jeanette and Kenneth moved to the White Cloud area in 1991 from Western Springs, Illinois and Jeanette enjoyed reading, crocheting in her younger years and traveling together with Kenneth. Jeanette is survived by her daughters, Karen (John) Montney of White Cloud; Diane (Tom) Perrin of McCook, Illinois; 3 grandchildren, Stacie (David) Kailing, Marcie Montney and Tracie Montney; 3 great-grandchildren, Ayden David, Keagan John and Kacie Lynn; her brother, Harold Payne of Minnesota. VISITATION : Monday, April 25, 2016 from 2-3pm at the Redeemer Lutheran Church (680 E Main Street Fremont MI 49412) FUNERAL SERVICES : Monday, April 25, 2016 at 3pm at the Redeemer Lutheran Church.
