Jeannette H. Meell of Fremont passed away Friday, October 19, 2018, at the age of 98. Jeannette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Howard Meell (Marilyn), Lee Meell, and Ann Peebles (Ted); her grandchildren, Kelly Beuten (Bucky), Kimberly VandenBerg (Thor), Teddy Peebles, and Blake Peebles (Shannon); and eleven great grandchildren, Brayden Beuten, Jansen Beuten, Reese VandenBerg, Sage VandenBerg, Ashe VandenBerg, Dylan Peebles, Taylor Peebles, Hayes Peebles, Rebekah Peebles, Sydney Mae Peebles, and Francis Bittick. She was preceded in death by her parents, Winfield C. Hartman and Jeannette L. Hartman, and by her husband of 65 years, Howard E. Meell. Jeannette was born December 13, 1919, in Philadelphia, PA and married her high school sweetheart on January 26, 1943. She was a Registered Nurse who cared deeply for her patients. After World War II Jeannette and Howard moved to Evanston, IL and then to Wheaton, IL in 1950 where she raised her family. She was known for her infectious laugh and her beautiful smile. She loved her family unconditionally and brought much happiness to all who knew her. She was a loyal and giving friend. In 1976, Howard and Jeannette moved to Fremont where she volunteered at Gerber Memorial Hospital for many years. She loved baseball and was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. Jeannette will be missed by all who knew her and loved her. A memorial service will be held at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont on November 10, 2018. Visitation will start at 10:00 am with a service to follow at 11:00 am. There will be a luncheon immediately following the services at The Stone Lodge (4707 S.
