Balke, Jeff A. Jeff A. Balke, age 41 of Brohman, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 2, 2006 from injuries received in a house fire at his home. Jeff was born on August 23, 1964 in Grand Rapids and later moved to the Brohman area and attended White Cloud Public Schools. After high school, he joined the United States Army and later met and married Faith Warren on September 18, 1987 in Fremont. Jeff had been the fire chief and rescue squad leader with the Merrill Township Fire Department for several years and enjoyed his work as a supervisor with Townsend Tree Service for the past 5 years. Jeff is survived by his wife, Faith of Gowen, Michigan; his children, Jeffrey Balke Jr. of Brohman; Amber Balke of Brohman; his granddaughter, Ryleigh Balke of Brohman; his mother, Carolyn Balke of Bitely; his brothers, Dave (Leslie) Balke of White Cloud; Tim Balke of Brohman; Tom (Kim) Balke of Buckley, Michigan; his sister, Verna (Charles) Twing of Huntsville, Alabama; his father, David (Sue) Balke of Allendale; several nieces and 1 nephews. Funeral memorial services were held on Friday, June 9, 2006 at the Brohman Bible Church in Brohman with Pastor Gordon Elzinga presiding following cremation. Friends may consider the Jeff A.
