Jerri Hewitt, age 79, of Fremont, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2000, at the Heartland Health Center in Battle Creek. She was born on March 16, 1921, in Hesperia to John F. and Ida (Dake) Maynard and married Frank Hewitt in Fremont on March 25, 1949. She was a Tupperware Saleswoman and a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She is survived by her daughters Crystal (Gary) Starlin of Cedar Lake, Marjorie (David) Howes of Battle Creek, and Judy Hilliard of Hartford; son Michael (Peggy) McCrory of Coloma; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother Jack Maynard of Fremont; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1982 and sister Leta Sowles in February of this year. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 12, 2000 from the Crandell Funeral Home Chapel in Fremont with Pastor Don Williams and Pastor Jim Danforth presiding. Interment was in East Hesperia Cemetery. Friends are asked to consider the Seventh-Day Adventist Church or Heartland Hospice of Grand Rapids for a more lasting memorial.
