Jerry Allen Mudget passed away on Tuesday, August 4th in Fremont after a long illness. He was 81 years old at the time of his passing. Jerry was born on February 27th, 1934 to Hollis and Lola Branch Mudget. After his fathers passing at an early age, Jerry was raised by his mother and loving stepfather Carl Anderson. Jerry attended White Cloud High School, where he was a star basketball player, participated in the Debate Team and graduated at the top of his class in 1952 after also being voted Best Physique and Best Athlete by his classmates. Jerry was proud to have spent his entire career working for the Gerber Products Company until he retired in 1989. Jerry spent his later years enjoying time with his grandchildren, working on home improvements and studying current events and history. Jerry also liked to spend his time crafting pine cone wreaths for his family during the holidays, making rugs and taking lots and lots of pictures to document his family. Jerry is survived by his daughters: Susan Littich, Holly (Doug) Harmon, Vicky Welsh and Joan Mudget, and his grandchildren Julia Littich, Amanda (Russ) Christiansen, Drew (Leila) Harmon, Lola (Mark) Ramsey, Jason (Erika) Sovinski and Sally Sovinski, and nine great grandchildren. Jerry is survived by three siblings - Willard (Dorothy) Mudget, Ardyce VanArman and Linden (Eva) Anderson, as well as numerous extended family and many friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Sally Mudget; his granddaughter, Laura Littich and son-in-law, Ron Littich. A time of visiting with the Mudget family will be held on Thursday, August 6th at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Fremont Area Community Foundation for the Commission on Aging Fund.
