Obituary

Jerry Lee Tozer, age 78 of Hesperia, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Jerry was born on April 13, 1934 in Muskegon to Perley and May (Johnson) Tozer and moved to Denver Twp. at the age of 12. Jerry attended Fremont High School and joined the US Army where he served in the Airborne Division. After his return to Hesperia, he married Sharron Booher on June 21, 1961 in Hesperia. Sharron preceded him in death on June 30, 2011. Jerry had worked at Sealed Power in Muskegon as a machine repair technician for 31 years until his retirement in 1995. Jerry enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, spending time metal detecting, wood working and building, and treasured the time spent with his grandchildren being a Grandpa. Jerry is survived by his children, Toni (Bill) Rumsey of Hesperia; Mark (Wendy) Tozer of Hesperia; Dawn (Henry) Zuniga of Hesperia; his grandchildren, Lisa (Shawn) Montague; Michael Rumsey; Celina Zuniga; Jerry Tozer; Mary Tozer; Katie Zuniga; his great granddaughter, Elyse Montague; his brothers and sisters, Judy (James) Sherman; Virginia (Thomas) Renney; Patricia (Ralph) Renney; Jim (Betsy) Tozer; Claudia Lee; Dolly (Con) VanTol; Larry (Debbie) Tozer; brother-in-laws, Alger Brown and Rolland Stout; many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his sisters, Lillian Brown and Leona Stout; his brother, Robert Tozer. TIME OF REMEMBERANCE : Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 4-7pm at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Perry Booher Scholarship Fund at the Fremont Area Community Foundation.
