Ashby, Jesse G. Jesse G. Ashby, age 90 of White Cloud, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. Jesse was born on December 18, 1916 in Winchester, Tennessee and later met and married Magdalene Galus on May 6, 1938 in Belvedere, Tennessee. Magdalene preceded him in death on January 9, 1999. Together they moved to the Grand Rapids and later moved to the White Cloud area in 1979. Jesse had been a security guard at the Keebler Company until his retirement in 1979. After retirement, Jesse kept busy volunteering his time and driving skills to the Newaygo County Commission On Aging where he delivered Meals On Wheels and assisted in driving Newaygo County residents to the doctors appointments and assisted with in home respite care programs through the Newaygo County Commission On Aging. Jesse is survived by his children, Emily Kay (Donald) Grey of Ft. Myers, Florida; Eugene Jesse Ashby of Ft. Myers Beach, Florida; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters. Private graveside services were held at the Aetna Township Cemetery in Morley following cremation.
