Jesse J. Goodrich, age 68 of White Cloud, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015 at his home following a lingering illness. Jesse was born on January 27, 1947 in Paw Paw to Robert L. and Donna M. (Willmarth) Goodrich and has been a resident of the White Cloud area for the past 20 years. Jesse married Ethel Brown on July 2, 2011 at the family home in White Cloud. Jesse had worked for Nagel Construction Company of Moline for over 30 years until his retirement. Jesse served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was Life Member of the V.FW. member of the Newaygo and Otsego V.F.W., and former member of the White Cloud Eagles and had enjoyed hunting in his younger years. Jesse also enjoyed playing horseshoes and had organized and operated many horseshoe tournaments in the area and also at Double Ringer Horseshoe Pits in White Cloud. Jesse is survived by his wife, Ethel of White Cloud; his children, Jacob Lamphere of Kalamazoo; Amanda (Lee) Wehner of Otsego; Jodi Guritz (Cy Spidel) of Wayland; Angela (Mark) Sikkila of Kalamazoo; Jesse (Ashley) Goodrich of Wichita, Kansas; Dakota Goodrich of Plainwell; Derek Hildebrand of Otsego; 6 grandchildren, his sisters and brothers, Tillie (Charlie) Goodrich of Otsego; Gerry (Ed) Sass of Port Huron; Steve (Artie) Goodrich of Otsego; Fay (Jeff) Bracelin of Allegan; Larry (Kathy) Goodrich of Arlington, Texas; several nieces and nephews. VISITATION : Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 9:30 11am at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel 1109 Court Street White Cloud with FUNERAL SERVICES at 11:00am at the Crandell Funeral Home with his brother, Pastor Larry Goodrich presiding. INTERMENT with MILITARY RITES will be given at the Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery.
