Jessica Ann Monroe, age 28 of Hesperia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 17, 2008 in Hesperia. Jessica was born on September 9, 1979 in Shelby to Marshall and Nancy (Hirsch) Monroe. Jessica attended Holton Public Schools until her Junior year and then moved to Hesperia and graduated from Hesperia High School in 1997. She graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science, Pre-law and later attended and graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelors Degree in Social Studies with an Elementary Teaching Endorsement. Jessica had been a substitute teacher in the schools in Newaygo County for several years. Jessicas enjoyed hunting and fishing and was baptized at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fremont. Jessica was also very interested in learning about her Native American Heritage and enjoyed attending Native American Pow Wows. Jessicas life revolved around her sons, Colton and Carter and she truly loved them every minute of their lives. She spent as much time as possible loving and teaching them on a daily basis. She is survived by her sons, Colton Monroe Yuhasz and Carter Monroe of Hesperia; her parents, Marshall and Nancy Monroe of Hesperia; her brother, Jonathon (Dawn) Monroe of Fremont; her niece, Alexis; nephews, Christian, and Jaxton Monroe; her maternal grandmother, Alice Hirsch of Fremont; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Jack Hirsch; her paternal grandparents, John & Rosemary Monroe. VISITATION : Tuesday, July 22, 2008 from 5-8 at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 1pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel.
