Joan Drabant, age 77 of Muskegon and formerly of Fremont, passed away Monday, November 19, 2001 at the Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. She was born on March 24, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois to Matthew and Barbara (Shilka) Sobczak and married Henry Drabant on September 22, 1962 in Chicago. Henry preceded her in death on December 14, 1988. She had been homemaker and a resident of Muskegon for the past 8 years when she moved from Fremont. She is survived by her children, Darlen Lafferty of Chicago, Illinois; Gloria J. Piland of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Thaddeus A. Konopinski of Chicago; Richard Konopinski of Muskegon; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Matthew Sobczak of Chicago. She was preceded in death by 1 son, Rodney on December 16, 1994.
