Joan E. LeMire, age 72 of Newaygo, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Joan was born on January 2, 1941 in White Cloud to Elmer Nelson and Doris Mae (Fetterley) May and graduated from White Cloud High School in 1957. Joan married Harold E. LeMire on August 27, 1966 in Newaygo and Harold preceded her in death on June 8, 1992. Joan has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud and Newaygo area where she had been a homemaker and was associated with the White Cloud United Methodist Church. Joan had enjoyed sewing, growing Yucca plants, yard saleing and visiting with neighbors and friends. Joan was known to many children in the area as Aunt Jo as well. Joan is survived by her children, Harold LeMire of Newaygo; Elizabeth (Jack) Reminga of Newaygo; Eric LeMire of Newaygo; her grandchildren, Kristopher and Kassandra; her great granddaughter, Trinity Jo; her mother, Doris M. May of White Cloud; her brothers and sister, Leon (Janet) May of Rockford; June Sutton of White Cloud; Dean May of Grand Rapids; several nieces, nephews and many cousins. A time of celebration will be held on the July 4th weekend at the family home following cremation. Interment will take place in White Cloud Cemetery next to Harold.
