Joan Evangline Ruel, age 72, of White Cloud passed away on December 30, 2017, at Spectrum Health Services - Blodgett Campus in Grand Rapids. Joan was born on September 9, 1945, in Brohman to Ovia Irel and Degnia Theresa (Hamlin) Lord and later married Michael Ruel on July 16, 2006 in Newaygo. Joan has been a longtime resident of the area where she had been a Tupperware Salesperson for many years. Joan enjoyed stamp collecting, quilting, crocheting, painting. Joan especially enjoyed flower gardening at her home and enjoyed fishing on the rivers and lakes in the area where she usually caught the biggest fish when she and Mike were fishing. Joan is survived by her husband, Michael; her children, Milton Porter, Daniel Porter, and Margaret Porter; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Sharon (Jim) Toth; Trudy and Irle. A celebration of life service will be held in the summer of 2018 at the family home following Joan's wishes for cremation.
