Joann Elaine Church, age 80 of Fremont passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Spectrum Health Services Gerber Memorial in Fremont. Joann was born on January 23, 1936, in Dayton Township to Milo and Bonnie (Graham) Smith and married Gerald E. Church on September 13, 1954, in LaGrange, Indiana. Joann worked for the Fremont School System for over 25 years driving school bus and working in the cafeteria. She loved quilting and sewing, crossword puzzles, time with her family, especially when gifting fun. Joann is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Gerald; children, Sheryl (Barry) Gill of Fremont, Brad (Stacey) Church of Fremont, Jack (Su) Church of Fremont, and Jeff (Jodi) Church of Fremont; grandchildren, RaChel (Jay) Gray, Keith Gill, Dougan (Audrey King) Church, Troyer (Kristin Beeler) Church, Kristy (Marty) Stieber, and Sarah (Joe) Wilkinson; great grandchildren, Katelyn and Easton Wilkinson and Marcus Stieber; brother, Gary Smith of Fremont, along with his children Ted (Tammy) Smith and April (Justin) Bock and families; brothers-in-law, Verlo Bud Church, Robert (Eva) Church, Bernie (Joyce) Church; nieces Kari (Dave) Finney, Brittney (Chris) Young, and Raelene (Jeff) Oslund; and nephew, Steve (Catherine) Church. Visitation will be from 5 -8 PM on Monday, July 11, 2016, at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont and from 10 - 11AM on Tuesday at the Fremont Christian Church - Disciples of Christ in Fremont. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday at the Church with Pastor David Dickinson officiating. Interment will be in Clark Cemetery.
