Brock Jr., John W. John W. Brock Jr., age 58 of Fremont, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2005 at his home. John was born on November 27, 1946 in Fremont to John W. and Pauline A. (Waters) Brock Sr. and has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area. John started work at the Gerber Products Company in Fremont and retired after 30 years of service as a maintenance supervisor. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and mushroom hunting, had been a hobby farmer and enjoyed raising fantail pigeons. He was also a member of the National Wildlife Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, and National Trappers Association. He was a member of the Fremont Moose Lodge #1555 and the Hesperia American Legion and was a veteran of the Vietnam Era where he served in the United States Air Force. John was also a member of the Aetna Calvary Church. He is survived by his immediate family, daughter, Tara L. (Floyd) Gates of Rockford; his grandchildren, Blake, Kathryn, Nicholas; his father, John W. Brock Sr. of Hesperia; brothers, Eugene W. Brock of Fremont; Larry A. Brock of Nashville, Tennessee; his sister, Charlotte A. DeVries of Grand Rapids; his nieces and nephews, Peggy J. Beckett, Larry L. Brock, Kelly A. Parks, William J. DeVries Jr.; 7 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline A. Brock on October 15, 1981. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 from the Aetna Calvary Church wit interment in the Lincoln Township Cemetery.
