John Lee Buttleman, age 62 of White Cloud, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 26, 2020 at his home. John was born on May 11, 1958 in Fremont to Jack and Ellen M. (Getz) Buttleman and has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud area. John met and later married Bonnie (Osborn) LaBelle on July 24, 1980 in White Cloud. John was a Master Auto Mechanic and worked for various auto repair garages in the area as well as keeping all the family vehicles up and running. He recently retired from Chuck and Meredy's Auto in Big Rapids. John also owned and operated B & M Septic Service with his wife, Bonnie, and their business partner Tom Maike, for several years. He became a licensed builder as well and was instrumental in the building of many family homes and garages. John was well known for his great cooking and especially with baking – cookies, cakes, and all types of delicious treats. He enjoyed camping with his family, fishing and boating, and hydrosledding. John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bonnie of White Cloud; step daughter, Brandy (Ray) Fleming of White Cloud; grandchildren, Amber, Daniel, Valerie, and Andrew Fleming; his mother, Ellen Buttleman of White Cloud; brother, James Buttleman of White Cloud; sisters, Alice (Tom) Maike of White Cloud; Mary Brown of Fremont; his uncle, Marion Getz of Hartford, Michigan; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. John was preceded in death by his father, Jack Buttleman; his step-daughter, Jeannie LaBelle; his half-sister, Roxanne and half-brother, Rick; sister-in-law, Angela Buttleman A memorial luncheon for family and friends will be held at the family home in July following John's wishes for cremation. Interment will be in Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the John L. Buttleman family to assist with expenses.
