Dominiak, John G. "Jack" John G. Jack Dominiak, age 92 of Newaygo, went to his eternal rest, joining his deceased wife, Grace on September 2, 2006. Jack was born in Painsdale, Michigan on July 9, 1914, the son of Ignace and Mary (Wauzyniak) Dominiak. He graduated from St. Vincents School of Nursing in 1939 with his RN Degree. Jack worked at Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital in Detroit where he met and married Grace Thielen, an x-ray technician in 1942. Grace preceded him in death on July 21, 1990. Jack served as a medic in the US Army from 1941-1945 in the European Theatre. After his honorable discharge, Jack returned to Detroit and began work with the City of Detroit Health Department and ended his career with the State of Michigan, Department of Agriculture in 1976. Jack and Grace retired to their home on the White River in White Cloud. He later married Mary Ann Mare, RN, the widow of Dr. Fred W. Mare. They enjoyed the next 16 years together surrounded by friends and family overlooking Croton Pond. He was a member of the Croton American Legion, enjoyed reading and gardening, had been an avid fisherman who was well known for the bell on his fishing pole. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; her family of 2 sisters and 3 brothers and their spouses in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Florida; his sister, Helene Miller; his sister-in-laws, Agnes Wallace, Marie Thielen, Lucille Otten, Marilyn Krick, along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass Services were held on Friday, September 8, 2006 from the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud with Rev. Father Tony Russo presiding with interment in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in White Cloud. The family requests in lieu of flowers, please consider the St. Joseph Catholic Church or any Hospice in the donors area for memorial contributions in memory of Jack.
