John Thomas Hruby, age 59 of Fremont, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. John was born on November 14, 1960 in Defiance, Ohio to Thomas and Joan (Fisher) Hruby and later graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in Saginaw. John then attended and graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Dairy Science in 1983. John met and later married Cindy Arnold on March 22, 1986 in Ravenna. John has been a resident of the Fremont area for the past 31 years where he was the Environmental Supervisor for Gerber Products/Nestle for the past 28 years. John was a longtime member of the Resonate Church in Newaygo and was one of the original members of the church from its beginning. John was also instrumental in establishing the Fremont FFA/Nestle Land Lab in Fremont. He enjoyed antique John Deere tractors, had been active in the Newaygo County Fair swine department was active in the Fremont FFA Alumni Group. John truly enjoyed following his children's activities throughout their lives.
John is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cindy of Fremont; his children and grandchildren, Andy (Abby) Hruby and their children, Everett and Memphis of Pleasant Lake, Indiana; Marie (Frank) Zwemmer and their daughter, Elouise of Shepherd, Michigan; Sarah (Jacob) Clapsaddle of Park Ridge, Illinois; Ben Hruby of Fremont; his mother, Joan Hruby of Acworth, Georgia; his sisters and brother, Jodie Hruby of Prague, Czech Republic; Jill (Stewart Griffiths) Hruby of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Tom (Rebecca) Hruby of Kingston, Georgia; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Arnold of Greenville; sister-in-law, Debbie (Jim) Cameron of Greenville; several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Hruby and by his father-in-law, Tom Arnold.
