Lucas Jr, John William John William Lucas Jr., age 77 of Newaygo, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2004 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. He was born on April 23, 1927 in Jackson County, Indiana to John W. and Josephine (Devors) Lucas and later married Roberta Huffman. He had been a production worker at VanSingle Produce in Grant. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Roberta of White Cloud; his children, John B. Lucas of Grant; Josey G. Lucas of Newaygo; Terri K. Lucas of White Cloud; Deborah Zylstra of Newaygo; Stephen Peterson of Manton; Kathy Bailey of Mississippi; Valerie Peterson of Grant; Barbara Peterson of Stanwood; 21 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marjorie Zerby of Alto. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Ralph, Grace, Liticia, Mildred, Lorraine, and Hazel. Funeral memorial services were held at a later time following cremation.
