John Richard Nyhof, age 70, of Muskegon passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018, at the Leilia and &Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence in Muskegon. John was born on January 11, 1947, in Portsmouth, Virginia, to Richard Earl and Evelyn Catherine (Stell) Nyhof and served as a career military officer in the United States Armed Forces. John enjoyed tennis in his younger years and until recently taking long walks. John was a kind and very moral person with very strong beliefs. He had a love for his family and will be very much missed by all.
John is survived by his brother and sister, James Nyhof of Twin Lake and Cynthia Flores of Muskegon; nieces and nephew, Linsey (Chris) Freet, Chandra Nyhof, Kimberly Nyhof, and Dustin Flores.
