John D. Peake, age 55, of Holton passed away on Friday, October 31, 2014 at his home after battling cancer. John was born on October 30, 1959, to Leroy J. and Sharon E. ( DeMille) Peake and married Christine Elizabeth Stevens on July 6, 1995, in Grand Rapids. John was a graduate of West Ottawa High School and worked at Metal Technologies in Ravenna. John enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, trains, and reading. John is survived by his loving wife, Christine; children, Samantha Peake, Austin Peake, Tarren Peake, and Stephanie Marble; 4 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Katrina Munson, Jashnea Tillison, Latonia Peake, Reynea Roundhouse, Kevin Peake, Eric Peake, Chris Deglopper, Deb Cole, Racheal Bradford, and Bruce Deboer; mother-in-law, Carole Stevens; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Craig) Helsel; and nephews, Cole and Ethan. A celebration of life for John will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont with Pastor Larry Young from the Resurrection Life Church in Rockford presiding. There will be visitation to meet with the family 2 hours prior to the service (10 12) at the funeral home. For a more lasting memorial, friends are asked to consider the American Cancer Society.
