R. Videtich
September 27, 1941 – July 28, 2024
John R. "Jack" Videtich, age 82 of Hesperia, formerly of Muskegon, passed away following his battle with cancer on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at his home. Jack was born on September 27,1941 in Muskegon to Ralph and Olga (Marchuk) Videtich and graduated from Muskegon Catholic High School in 1959. Jack later attended Coyne Electric College in Chicago and returned back to Muskegon where he started a 31 year career with GTE Telephone Company as an installer and later as cable splicer and cable installation technician until his retirement in 1999. Jack enjoyed building and flying remote control airplanes, reading about World War II history and working on the family farm in Hesperia. Jack was the founder of Jack Videtich Variety Orchestra and played the accordion highlighting Slovenian polka's at various locations throughout Michigan for 42 years until the band retired in 2011. Jack especially treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren through the years and enjoyed taking them with him during orchestra performances.
Jack is survived by his children, Stephanie Grell of Hesperia; Michael (Brian) Tellez of Horseshoe, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Derek (Tiara) Beekman; Trevor (Kristi) Grell; Miranda Grell (fiancé, Jason Kaltz); Tanner Grell (fiancé, Madison Billings); Dustin Videtich; Michael Allen Videtich-Munoz; 8 great grandchildren; special cousin and longtime caregiver, Marie Videtich of Hesperia; his sister, Connie (Doug) Smentkowski; brother, James (Dede) Videtich; brothers-in-law, Del Anderson and George Roast; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jack was preceded in death by his sisters, Marilyn Anderson and Diane Roast.

VISITATION : Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024 from 10-10:45am at St Michaels Catholic Church in Brunswick – 6232 S. Maple Island Road Fremont MI 49412. MASS Of CHRISTIAN BURIAL : Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024 at 11am at St. Michael Catholic Church in Brunswick. INTERMENT : St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery.
