While under the care of his family, John Henry Rottier ended his earthly journey on May 25, 2004, and began his new life in glory at 12:10 a.m. He was born on August 14, 1917, the son of John M. and Leah B. (McCarty) Rottier. He married his loving wife of 64 years LaVinna G. Miller on June 14, 1940. Born and raised on their family farm, John continued farming both fruit and dairy for over 60 years. He enjoyed every aspect of farming. Johns love for the Lord was obvious to all who knew him and he was faithful to his Lord to the very end. He was preceded in death by his son John Kurt Rottier, his sister Margaret Helen Reeves, and brother Cornelius. Surviving him: his wife LaVinna, his sister Catherine Grace Rottier, his children: Louis Alan (Lisa Berens), Gary Wayne (Doreen), Paul David (Svetlana), grandchildren: Jaye Ann (Brent) Russell, Joshua Jerome Rottier, Louisa May Rottier, Gary Wayne Rottier II, Aron Michael Rottier, Julia Rata, great grandchildren: Kavan Mathew, Keera Morgan and Kenzi Marie Russell and William Jerome Rottier, and a host of nieces and nephews. Services were held Friday, May 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church on Oak Street in Fremont where John served the Lord for many years. Interment is in Maple Grove Cemetery.
