John C. Streichhirsch, age 69 of Robinson Lake, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Mercy Health Partners – Mercy Campus in Muskegon. John was born on July 31, 1948 in Fremont to Charles B. and Kathryn E. (Kottman) Streichhirsch and moved to Chicago at an early age. John met his wife, Nancy Graziano, at a high school sock hop and they were married on April 17, 1971 in Chicago. John was drafted into the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge. John worked as a stagehand for the International Alliance Theatrical Stage Employees Local #2 in Chicago for 50 years, including working for NBC for 19 years and Lyric Opera House for 21 years until his retirement in 2007. After retirement, John and Nancy moved permanently to Robinson Lake after spending many summers on the lake during their working years. John enjoyed boating and water skiing on Robinson Lake, socializing with friends but especially treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren. John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy of Robinson Lake; his sons, Jeff (Tina) Streichhirsch, along with their children, Angelina, Jaclyn, and Frankie of Elmwood Park, Illinois; Matt (Tracy) Streichhirsch and their son, Luke of Robinson Lake; his brothers, Christopher (Kate) Streichhirsch and son, Anthony of Robinson Lake; Gregory (Jodi) Streichhirsch and sons, Doug and Mitch Streichhirsch and Travis and Myles Gress; his extended family, friends and Robinson Lake family. John was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Kathryn.
