Joseph E. Joe Fulton, age 80 of Brohman, Michigan, St. James City, Florida and formerly of Plymouth, Michigan passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at his home in Brohman following a lingering illness. Joe was born on September 10, 1927 in Plymouth, Michigan to Harry Arthur and Violet Viola (Patterson) Fulton and met and later married Lillian Welzer on October 11, 1947 in Plymouth. Joe joined the United States Navy and served during World War II. After the war, Joe started working for the Strohs Brewery Company in Detroit as a truck driver for 23 years until 1970. He then moved to the Brohman area where he owned and operated the Northwest Central Lumber and Supply Company in Brohman and was a self employed builder for many years. Starting in 1985, Joe split his time between St. James City, Florida where he was an avid fisherman and Brohman where he spent time hunting and continued to build. Joe is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lil of Brohman and St. James City, Florida; his children, Susan (Ralph) Cunningham of Brohman; Joseph (Velma) Fulton of Willis, Michigan; Daniel (Shirley) Fulton of Big Rapids; 5 grandsons, 10 great grandchildren; his brothers, Robert Fulton of Oakley, Michigan; William (Nancy) Fulton of Paris, Michigan; Lucky (Donna) Fulton of Brohman; his sister, Betty (Robert) Smith of Northville; many nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Fulton. Funeral memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Amazing Grace Acres Church in Brohman with Pastor Lucky Fulton presiding.
