Joseph J. Hagen, age 89 of Muskegon, passed away Friday at the Sanctuary of the Shores Nursing Center in Grand Haven. Joseph was born on March 7, 1919 on the Hagen family farm to Paul and Mamie (Miller) Hagen and graduated from Fremont High School in 1938. Joe met and later married Rose Deblock on April 19, 1941 at the St. Michaels Catholic Church in Brunswick and Rose preceded him in death on May 9, 2006. Joe had been a farmer on the family farm in Sitka for many years until he moved to Muskegon in 1972 where he worked in the maintenance department of the Anaconda Steel and Michigan Spring Companies until his retirement. Joe enjoyed gardening and taking care of his yard. He was also member of the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Muskegon. He is survived by his children, Joseph P. (Mary) Hagen of Alto; Esther (Ben) Beaudry of Muskegon; his grandchildren, Jillayne (Peter) Neathercott; Holly Hagen; Jody Beaudry; great grandchildren, Katie Neathercott; Daniel Neathercott; Dawson Beaudry; Makenna Beaudry. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Harvey, Paul and Arnold. VISITATION : Tuesday from 9am until the time of the FUNERAL MASS SERVICES at 10am at the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. INTERMENT : Oakwood Cemetery in Holton. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Hospice of North Ottawa County.
