Joseph D. Kosla, age 78 of White Cloud, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont following a long illness. Joe was born on September 2, 1934 in White Cloud to Stanley and Frances (Dudeck) Kosla and later married June Dutcher on September 10, 1955 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud. Joe has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud area where he had been a truck driver at the Newaygo County Road Commission for 33 years until his retirement in 1992. Joe was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, Detroit Tiger Baseball and Detroit Lions Football, playing cards and had enjoyed talking on his CB radio. Joe is survived by his wife of 58 years, June of White Cloud; his children, Joseph (Chris) Kosla Jr. of White Cloud; Barbara (Scott) Aslakson of Hesperia; Greg (Jane) Kosla of White Cloud; Chris (Kevin) Kroll of White Cloud; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his brother, Edward (Penny) Kosla of White Cloud; his sisters, Helen Windver of California; Rose Skipper of Grand Rapids; Josie (Mike) Detmers of Grand Rapids; many nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his brothers, Tony Kosla and John Kosla; his sisters, Carol Luehrs and Mary Anna Kosla. VISITATION : Monday, July 15, 2013 from 4-7pm at Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with ROSARY services at 7pm at the funeral home. MASS OF RESURRECTION SERVICES : Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 11am at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud. INTERMENT : St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
