Joseph Kozicki, age 83 of Fremont, formerly of Spring Lake, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Joseph was born on August 24, 1926 in Grand Haven to Walter and Otilia Kozicki. Joseph met and later married Wanda Kufta on October 7, 1950 in Muskegon and had worked for Construction Aggregates in Ferrysburg for many years until his retirement in 1988. Joseph enjoyed taking care of his yard and gardening and had been a fruit farmer with his apple orchard. Joseph was a member of the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo. Joseph also served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. Joseph is survived by his wife, Wanda of Fremont; his children, Michael (Ann) Kozicki of Grand Rapids; John Kozicki of Fremont; Ann-Marie Kozicki of Fremont; 2 grandchildren, Bill and Andy Kozicki; sisters, Ruth Bolthouse of Spring Lake; Dorothy Bethke of Grand Haven. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Wally and Ted and his sister, Wanda and Betty Stevens. Funeral Memorial Mass Services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo with military rites given by the Newaygo V.F.W. Sportsmans Post #4249 with interment in the St. Bartholomew Catholic Cemetery in Newaygo. Friends may consider the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont for memorial contributions in memory of Joseph.
