Joseph L. Raymo, age 61 of Grant, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Joe was born on June 16, 1960 in Fremont to Ralph and Patricia (Lambert) Raymo and graduated from White Cloud High School in 1978. Joe met and married Jo Strait on March 1, 1980 in Taylor, Michigan. Joe joined the United States Navy where he served for 18 years until his retirement from the armed forces as Chief Hull Technician. While serving in the Navy, Joe was stationed at various naval stations on the east coast of the United States and moved back to Grant in 1996. Joe then started his 2nd career as an iron worker and worked throughout the United States until his final retirement in 2018. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, building and remodeling but truly treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jo of Grant; his children, Joshua (Jennifer) Raymo of Grant; Jessica (Donald) DuRose of Grant; Jaymes (Nicole) Raymo of Ohio; 21 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; his brothers, Skip (Diane) Raymo of North Carolina; Robert (Amber) Raymo of White Cloud; Todd (Dawn) Raymo of Muskegon; his sister, Patty (Mark) Novak of White Cloud; many nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Patricia Raymo.
