White, Joseph Floyd Joseph Floyd White, age 70 of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, March 31, 2005 at his home. Joe was born on January 16, 1935 in Fremont to Dorr and Ruth Eileen (Cline) White and married Bertha Allhands on April 17, 1954 in Fremont. Joe has been a lifelong resident of Fremont where he graduated from Fremont High School and worked for 40 years for the Newaygo County Road Commission until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, photography, muzzeloading, was a member of the Newaygo Oceana Free Trappers Association and had been a foster parent since 1968 for over 100 children. Joe also served in the Michigan National Guard during the Korean Conflict. Joe is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bertha of Fremont; his children, Al (Karen) White of White Cloud; Jackie (Mike) Witte of Fremont; Bruce (Alice) White of Hesperia; Mike (Kelly) White of White Cloud; Scott (Kathie) White of Hesperia; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; his brothers and sister, Don (Delores) White of Fremont; Robert (Rose) White of Holton; Janet Carrier of Fremont; Dan (Linda) White of Fremont; several nieces and nephews; his sister-in-law, Sharon (William) Hinson of Muskegon. Funeral service were held on Saturday, April 2, 2005 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
