Manchip, Josephine Josephine Jo Manchip, age 83 of White Cloud, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, April 25, 2003 . She was born on September 13, 1919 , in Chicago , Illinois , to Theodore and Elizabeth (Garbauskaus) Danto and married James Robert Manchip Sr. on November 10, 1946 , in Newaygo County . James Robert Sr. preceded her in death on October 14, 1966 . Jo has been a longtime resident of the White Cloud area and retired in 1984 as Probate Deputy Register at the Newaygo County Probate Court in White Cloud. She later volunteered at the Five-Cap Office in White Cloud for several years following her retirement. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud . She is survived by her children, James Robert (Jane) Manchip Jr. of Alta Loma, California; Tom (Carole) Manchip of White Cloud; Jacqueline Manchip Kohlhaas (Ben Kruissel) of Paw Paw; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; her sisters, Lillian Birch of Tucson, Arizona, and Frances Danber of Rhinelander, Wisconsin; and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth Domaika, Anna C. Smith, and Mamie Strkayla. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 30, 2003 from the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Father Tony Russo presiding with interment in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery . Friends may consider the St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund or Masss to the St. Joseph Catholic Church in her memory for memorial contributions.
