Joy Ann Sova, age 76 of Holton, passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2021 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Joy was born on May 5, 1945 in Manistee, Michigan to Robert William and Gwendolyn Pauline (Johnson) Klajda and graduated from Manistee High School. Joy met and married Donald Sova on November 13, 1967 in Muskegon and they moved to the Holton area in 1971. Joy had worked at Holton Head Start for over 20 years and then started work at Gerber Life Insurance in Fremont where she worked for 15 years until her retirement. Joy enjoyed spending time at their cottage on Ruby Creek and volunteering and attending functions and socializing at the Holton American Legion. Joy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Don of Holton; her children and grandchildren – son, David (Judy) Sova of Holton and their children, Derek (Carrie) Sova and Amber Sova; daughter, Sandy (Pat) Henretta of Twin Lake and their children, Dalton Henretta and Logan Henretta; her sister, Kitty Smith of Winterhaven, Florida. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Drew Henretta and her brother-in-law, Willard "Smitty" Smith. Following her wishes, a CELEBRATION OF Joy's Life will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 1pm - 5pm at the Holton American Legion 9150 Holton Road Holton MI 49425. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Holton. Friends may consider the Holton American Legion Auxillary for memorial contributions in memory of Joy.
