Joyce Ann Burgess, age 68 of White Cloud, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2008 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus following complications from surgery. Joyce was born on July 17, 1940 in Huntington, West Virginia to Hugh and Arlena (Hodges) Callicoat and met and later married James W. Burgess on November 21, 1955 in Russell, Kentucky. Joyce has been a resident of the White Cloud area since 1985 when she and James moved from Wyoming, Michigan. Joyce had worked at Hiram Corporation and Metronic Corporation as a production worker until her retirement. Joyce was a member of the White Cloud Eagle Quilting Club. Joyce is survived by her husband, James W. Burgess of White Cloud; her sons, James M. (Mary) Burgess of White Cloud; Jeffrey V. (Sandy) Burgess of Grand Rapids; Donald R. (fianc, Amy Stollings of Kentwood; Gregory A. (Karen) Burgess of Grand Rapids; her grandchildren, Tyler J. Burgess and Travis A. Burgess of White Cloud; Brandon R. and Corey J. Burgess of Wayland; Justin G. and Andrew A. Burgess of Wyoming; step grandchildren, Angela A. and Jessica A. Foster of Ohio; 3 great grandchildren; her sister, Terinia Payne of Corpus Christi, Texas; her special friend, Dee Delight. VISITATION : Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 at Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Monday at 11am at the White Cloud United Methodist Church.
