Joyce Ann Emerson, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 8th, 2026, at the age of 83 years old. Born on Saturday, January 30th, 1943, in Ashland, Kentucky, Joyce lived a vibrant life full of love and laughter.

A dedicated teacher by profession, Joyce touched the lives of countless students with her wisdom, kindness, and passion for learning. Her career was marked by her unwavering commitment to education and her ability to inspire those around her. Joyce had a deep love for driving, dancing, and, most importantly, her family. These passions were the heart of her joyful spirit and her ability to find happiness in everyday moments.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Chris Apps, her beloved sister, Sue Gill, and many nieces and nephews who cherished her dearly. She also leaves behind her son-in-law, James Erisman, who held a special place in her heart. Joyce was preceded in death by her loving parents, Thermon and Evelyn Conway.

A visitation will be held at Crandell Funeral Homes Inc in Fremont, MI, on Saturday, May 16th, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of Joyce and honor her incredible journey. Following the services, a luncheon will be held at Grace Community Church in Fremont, MI, at 1:00 pm. This will be a time of fellowship and remembrance, celebrating the life of a remarkable woman who left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
