Juanita M. Short, age 77 of Blue Lake, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Juanita was born on May 20, 1940 in Hart to Gerald and Hazel (Cole) Woodland and later married William Short on November 4, 1961 in Muskegon. Juanita has been a longtime resident of the Blue Lake area where she was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family. Juanita enjoyed playing Bingo and Yahtzee with her sister-in-law Sharon and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Juanita is survived by her husband, William; her son, Danny (Ann) Lockhart of Jackson, Michigan; her daughters, Sandra (Robert) Giffen of Holton; Brenda Horton (Rob McCann) of Holton; her grandchildren, Wanda, Brian, Jason, Robert, Juanita, Lyla, Joey, Derek, Nichole, Chad, Shannon, Brittany, Felicia; 32 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; her sisters, Patricia Pierce of Wolf Lake; Bonnie (Alan) Burmeister of Lakewood Club. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Hazel Woodland; her daughters, Debbie, Donna, Peggy, Cindy; her son-in-law, Robert Cooley; brothers, Jerry, Leon, Robert, Mike; her sister, Liz; her granddaughter, Amy Lockhart.

VISITATION : Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 10am – 11am at the Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel. MEMORIAL SERVICES : Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11am at the Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel. INTERMENT : in the spring of 2018 at the Oakhill Cemetery in Dalton Township.
