Judy Corey, age 68, of White Cloud went home to be with her Savior on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Judy was born on April 24, 1945 in Elkhart, Indiana to Gayle Day and Audra Jean (Brown) Grove and married Alvin R. Corey on June 29, 1991 in Kalamazoo. Judy was a Chaplain for Hospice and had degrees from Western Michigan University and Western Theological Seminary. She was a member of the Michigan Chaplains Association and Brain Injury Association as well as belonging to the Newaygo Congregational United Church of Christ. Judy is survived by her husband, Alvin; children, Richard Stewart of Kalamazoo, Jennifer Gordon of White Cloud; step-children, Rayna Hutchison of Kalamazoo and Heather Corey of Grand Rapids; four grandchildren, Shawn, Clara, Ethan, and Kayleisha; brother and sister, Timothy (Connie) Grove of Elkhart and Deborah (Mark) Perkins of Grand Rapids; many nieces and nephews; and many special friends over the years. Judy was preceded in death by her parents. Judy is well known as an organist, writer, and chaplain and will be deeply missed by the many people she touched over the years. She will be fondly remembered for her strong faith in and commitment to the Lord, her courageous perseverance, diligence in finding joy in each and every day, generous spirit and desire to improve the lives of others, great love for her family, friends and church, her ability to embrace new beginnings during the transitions of her life, her love of music and books, and her complete devotion to her husband Al. A Celebration of Life Service for Judy was held at 3PM on Sunday, April 6 2014 at the Newaygo Congregational United Church of Christ. Friends are invited to join the family for the interment ceromony in Goodwell Township Cemetery on Sunday, June 29 2014 at 7 PM.
